Suction hoses and vacuum-resistant line systems are functional components whose failure has a direct impact on machine availability and process reliability. They must permanently absorb vacuum loads down to -0.9 bar without collapsing, withstand abrasive particles and bulk materials without wearing through, and remain flexible and tight even at low temperatures or in continuous operation.

As a specialized suction hose manufacturer for industry and OEM, MST-Flexduct develops spiral-reinforced elastomer-textile systems designed precisely for these requirements. Our suction hoses are used in extraction systems, industrial vacuum systems, dedusting systems, bulk-material conveying and material-handling systems — wherever vacuum stability, abrasion resistance and reproducible series quality are decisive.

Requirements for suction & vacuum hoses

Industrial suction and vacuum hoses have to deliver considerably more than classic flexible lines. In addition to high flexibility, vacuum resistance in particular is decisive: the hose must not deform, collapse or lose material strength when vacuum is applied.

Added to this are changing mechanical loads from friction, abrasion, movement and vibration. Many applications also require media resistance to dusts, bulk materials, hot air flows or aggressive particles, as well as, in safety-relevant areas, an antistatic version to EN ISO 8031 or ATEX conformity to Directive 2014/34/EU.

An industrial suction hose is therefore not a consumable, but a functional component whose quality has a direct influence on production reliability and plant availability.

Materials & spiral reinforcement

For vacuum-stable line systems, MST-Flexduct relies on reinforced elastomer-textile constructions developed specifically for industrial vacuum and abrasion requirements. Through the precise coordination of spiral type, number of layers and material compound, hoses are created that withstand high loads while remaining durable and reliable.

The layer structure combines:

  • Robust elastomers (NBR, EPDM or special compounds) for flexibility and media resistance
  • Technical fabric layers to stabilize the wall structure and absorb pressure
  • Integrated spiral elements made of steel wire or hard plastic that prevent collapse under vacuum
  • Abrasion-resistant inner layer for media with particles, bulk material or high friction influences
  • Antistatic conductive layers on request for combustible-dust-carrying and ATEX-relevant applications

Industrial Use Cases

MST-Flexduct vacuum and suction hoses are used in a wide variety of industrial applications. Especially in sensitive production areas, hoses must function reliably — failures here lead directly to stoppages or quality risks. Thanks to their high stability and abrasion resistance, the systems are suitable both for continuous load cases and for dynamic applications with frequent changes of movement:

  • Extraction systems in production areas (chips, dusts, particles)
  • Dedusting systems in wood, plastics and metal processing
  • Vacuum transport of bulk materials in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries
  • Process-air systems with alternating pressure and vacuum phases
  • Vacuum handling systems for lifting operations in logistics and manufacturing
  • Industrial suction-conveying systems for granulates, powders and grains
  • Extraction of flue ash and hot process emissions with temperature resistance up to +150 °C

Series production

As an OEM-oriented manufacturer, MST-Flexduct supplies suction hoses and vacuum systems that are manufactured stably and reproducibly in series. Every batch meets identical tolerance specifications and performance values, so that hoses can be used in existing systems without problems or replaced during ongoing operation.

MST-Flexduct supports customers in the development of variants, handles the prototype phase, and accompanies the series approval with verifiable evidence. Production at several sites ensures a reliable supply and low supply-chain risks even for high call-off quantities.

Quality & test procedures

Since suction and vacuum hoses are directly connected to production processes, quality assurance is a decisive factor. Depending on the application, MST-Flexduct tests hoses for:

Vacuum resistance: Collapse test under a defined vacuum profile down to -0.9 bar

Dimensional accuracy: Inner and outer diameter as well as wall-thickness uniformity over the entire hose length

Abrasion behaviour of the inner layer to DIN ISO 4649 (grinding-wheel method)

Temperature and ageing resistance to DIN 53508 / ISO 188

Tightness and structural integrity under alternating load

Dissipation resistance of antistatic versions to EN ISO 8031

Application-oriented tests under load-change stresses and bending processes

For OEM customers, documented inspection reports, quality evidence and series approvals are additionally available. This enables transparent integration into the customer’s existing quality structure.

Why MST-Flexduct as a suction hose manufacturer?

Suction and vacuum hoses are central functional components. A single failure through collapse, wearing through or embrittlement can cause machine downtime, production interruptions or quality defects. A suction hose that has to be replaced after a few weeks is not an economical solution.

MST-Flexduct combines materials expertise, technical design and precise series production to develop suction hoses that function reliably even under high load. Spiral type and layer structure are matched to the specific vacuum values and media loads of the respective application. The result is line systems with a significantly longer service life and lower maintenance effort than standard products.
